"A Fresh Start: New Haircut, New Mindset, and Renewed Weight Loss Goals"

Entry #144 The Final Game  Change is never easy, but it’s often the spark we need to get back on track. As I continue on my weight loss journey, I’ve realized it’s time for a reset—not just with my health goals, but with my overall look and mindset. Sometimes, small changes can lead to big transformations, and for me, that means rethinking how I approach my diet and fitness, and even switching up my hairstyle. Both are symbolic ways of showing myself that I’m ready to move forward with intention and renewed energy. Even though I’ve been steadily losing weight and seeing my body fat percentage drop, I had to ask myself—am I truly doing enough? Am I being as consistent and mindful as I could be? The truth is, there’s room for improvement. I know that by continuing to fine-tune what I eat, I can enhance my progress. Every small decision, from portion control to food choices, adds up over time. This past week, having friends over to watch the basketball games made it harder...

'Feeling Overwhelmed: Finding Balance in a Busy Life"

Entry #140 Day of Rest Lately, exhaustion has been taking over both my body and mind. The past few days have been a whirlwind, leaving me drained and struggling to keep up. Between late-night basketball games on Thursday, Friday, and Saturday, I haven't been able to get a solid night’s rest. Combine that with a busy work schedule and lingering pain from my injury, and it feels like I’m running on empty. Each day seems to pass in a blur, from the moment the sun rises until I finally collapse into bed. Maybe I’ve been pushing myself harder than I have in a long time. It’s frustrating to feel like life is controlling me rather than the other way around. Somewhere along the way, I lost my sense of balance, and now I need to figure out how to take back control. On a positive note, today felt a little more productive. I finally got some much-needed maintenance done on my car, squeezed in a workout, cleaned up, and even picked up a new air freshener. On top of that, I’ve be...

A Perfect March Madness Gathering: Friends, Food, and Basketball"

" Entry #133 Running it Back with the Madness  March Madness is more than just basketball—it's a tradition, a time for friends, food, and unforgettable moments. Every year, my friends and I carve out time in our busy schedules to gather, watch the games, and enjoy each other's company. Yesterday was a late night, but today promised to be just as exciting. Starting the Day Off Right After a long night of watching games, I woke up early to get a head start. The aftermath of last night’s gathering still lingered, so I spent the morning cleaning up, taking out the garbage and recycling, and tackling a small project—assembling a new shelving unit for the shed. Once that was done, it was time to dive into the day's events. A Gym Session That Felt Like a TV Moment Some days, life feels like an episode of a TV show. Walking into the gym, it wouldn’t have surprised me if "Mama Said Knock You Out" by LL Cool J played as I opened the door. I met up with my g...

"Running on Empty: Sleep Struggles, March Madness, and Pushing Through"

Entry #131 The Madness Begins Lately, sleep has become a luxury that seems just out of reach. Even though I’ve been sticking to the same routine for weeks, I find myself tossing and turning at night. The result? A sluggish, foggy state that makes even the simplest tasks feel overwhelming. When you're running on empty, it’s hard to enjoy the little things—everything just feels a little less fun. Hopefully, I can get back to my normal sleep pattern soon. But despite my sleep struggles, there's one thing keeping my spirits up: March Madness —one of my favorite times of the year! The thrill of the games, the energy of having friends over, and the friendly banter over brackets make this an event I look forward to every season. Between watching the matchups, making food, and soaking in the excitement, the days seem to fly by. Everyone has an opinion on who will take it all, and the constant chatter about predictions only adds to the fun. Every part of my day is planned...

"A Day of Preparation: From a Chilly Wake-Up to March Madness Excitement"

Entry #130 Preparing For Madness  Some mornings, getting out of bed feels impossible—especially when exhaustion lingers from the day before. That was exactly how I felt today. Groggy and sluggish, I struggled to fully wake up—until I opened the door. A blast of icy morning air hit me like a slap in the face, jolting me awake faster than any cup of coffee ever could. As much as I disliked the rude awakening, I had to admit—it was effective. After bundling up, I headed outside, started my car, and did my usual double-check to make sure I had everything I needed for the day. Nothing is worse than realizing you forgot something important after you’re already halfway to work. Navigating a Rainy Commute The rain had been falling for most of the day, but by the time I was heading home, it turned into an all-out downpour. Traffic was a mess—cars crawled along, hazard lights blinking, as drivers hesitated at every turn. My usual route took twice as long, but eventually, I made i...
