"Blaze of Glory & a Busy Day’s Victory"

Image
This morning hit like a freight train. I swear, my alarm clock was plotting against me. The bed was warm, the room was cool, and the last thing I wanted to do was face the day. But duty calls, right? As I was dragging myself into the land of the living, "Blaze of Glory" by Bon Jovi came on—and let me tell you, nothing like a dramatic power ballad to get your blood moving. I’m not saying I did a full music video montage while brushing my teeth… but if my mirror could talk, it might submit the footage to VH1. Work was chaos. It felt good to just catch up, talk, and laugh before heading home to my favorite fluffball. Dinner was low-key but solid. Afterward, my dog and I had a little play session—tail wags, toy tugging, the whole thing. Finally, I got to sit down, breathe, and just be. And through it all? The vibe of the day was totally soundtracked by ...

Entry #53 *Introduction* As the clock ticks down to midnight on New Year's Eve, many of us take a moment to reflect on the past year. For me, 2024 has been a year of unexpected challenges and transformative growth. If you've been following my blog, you know that I've been on a journey of self-improvement, tackling my fitness, finances, and overall well-being. In this post, I'll share a story about how my best-laid plans can go awry, and how I've learned to adapt and find the silver lining. *The Best-Laid Plans* Today was supposed to be a productive day. I had a clear plan to tackle my storage shed and home office, making them more efficient and organized. The plan involved removing a wire rack from the shed and repurposing it in my office. Sounds simple enough, right? However, as we all know, life has a way of throwing curveballs. My day started with a 3 am wake-up call, courtesy of my dog, and I didn't fall back asleep until 6 am. By the time I woke...
