"A Fresh Start: New Haircut, New Mindset, and Renewed Weight Loss Goals"
Entry #144 The Final Game
Change is never easy, but it’s often the spark we need to get back on track. As I continue on my weight loss journey, I’ve realized it’s time for a reset—not just with my health goals, but with my overall look and mindset. Sometimes, small changes can lead to big transformations, and for me, that means rethinking how I approach my diet and fitness, and even switching up my hairstyle. Both are symbolic ways of showing myself that I’m ready to move forward with intention and renewed energy.
Even though I’ve been steadily losing weight and seeing my body fat percentage drop, I had to ask myself—am I truly doing enough? Am I being as consistent and mindful as I could be? The truth is, there’s room for improvement. I know that by continuing to fine-tune what I eat, I can enhance my progress. Every small decision, from portion control to food choices, adds up over time.
This past week, having friends over to watch the basketball games made it harder to stay on track. I didn’t make the healthiest food choices, and while I didn’t completely derail my progress, I also recognize that I could have seen better results by now. That said, I’m not beating myself up over it. Life is about balance. What matters most is what I do next—and I’ve got a plan. I’m committed to moving forward with a sustainable and effective weight loss strategy. I know it won’t happen overnight, but I’m in it for the long haul.
On a lighter note, it’s time for a new haircut! I’ve had the same style for about four years now, which is longer than I’ve stuck with any look in the past. I’m ready for something different—something that matches the new energy I’m channeling into my goals. A few friends helped me pick out some inspiration photos, and I’ll be taking them with me when I head to the barber tomorrow. With a little collaboration and creativity, I’m confident we’ll land on a style that feels fresh and empowering.
As the Men's Championship Game wraps up tonight, it marks more than just the end of the tournament—it’s the beginning of a new chapter for me. I’m leaving the indulgences of game night behind and stepping forward with purpose. My health is my top priority, and I know that shedding a few more pounds will not only help me feel better physically, but mentally as well. I’m hopeful it will ease some of the lingering pain from past injuries too.
This week, I’m embracing change—on the inside and out. A new haircut, a stronger plan, and a determined mindset. I’m ready to level up.
