"A Day of Preparation: From a Chilly Wake-Up to March Madness Excitement"
Entry #130 Preparing For Madness
Some mornings, getting out of bed feels impossible—especially when exhaustion lingers from the day before. That was exactly how I felt today. Groggy and sluggish, I struggled to fully wake up—until I opened the door. A blast of icy morning air hit me like a slap in the face, jolting me awake faster than any cup of coffee ever could. As much as I disliked the rude awakening, I had to admit—it was effective.
After bundling up, I headed outside, started my car, and did my usual double-check to make sure I had everything I needed for the day. Nothing is worse than realizing you forgot something important after you’re already halfway to work.
Navigating a Rainy Commute
The rain had been falling for most of the day, but by the time I was heading home, it turned into an all-out downpour. Traffic was a mess—cars crawled along, hazard lights blinking, as drivers hesitated at every turn. My usual route took twice as long, but eventually, I made it to the store. Luckily, the trip was worth it. They had an amazing sale on essentials—stocking up now meant I wouldn’t have to worry about it later. On my way home, I made one last stop for gas. Nothing beats the relief of knowing I won’t have to go out again tomorrow.
Getting Ready for March Madness
The excitement of hosting friends for March Madness tomorrow kept me motivated throughout the day. I didn’t have much left to do, but I wanted everything ready in advance. I rearranged the furniture to create as much seating as possible, making sure everyone would have a good view of the TV. Then, I took stock of my food and drinks—snacks, check. Beverages, check. Plates and cups? Double-check. The last thing I wanted was to run out of something mid-game.
Final Touches Before Game Day
Before calling it a night, I made sure my dust buster was charged and ready to go—because spills are practically inevitable during game night. My regular vacuum was placed nearby, just in case. I even set out some microfiber cloths for quick cleanups. With everything in place, I could finally relax, knowing tomorrow was set up for a fun and stress-free March Madness gathering.
Bring on the games!
