π΅ Song of the Day
“Give Me One Reason” — Tracy Chapman
> “Give me one reason to stay here, and I’ll turn right back around.”

π‘ Quote of the Day
"Your reasons are your runes. Collect them now, so temptation cannot break your shield tomorrow."

π₯ Campfire Monologue: Feast Eve Vigil
The night before the Feast of Doom always feels heavier.
Cold air pressed against the clearing like a waiting beast, nosing at your cloak, slipping frost along your spine.
The fire crackled—not gentle, but sharp, like bones snapping in a tavern brawl. Sparks spiraled upward, rising past crooked pines like tiny dying stars.
The Lore Keeper sat across from you, hood thrown back, lantern glowing steady gold. Runes shimmered in its glass like trapped fireflies.
“You stand on the edge of a test,” he said. “Tonight, discipline is forged. Tomorrow, it must endure.”
The fire popped loudly—and Tobito cartwheeled into the scene like a projectile tortilla.
“MINI‑GAME TIME!” he screamed, sunglasses reflecting the flames in ridiculous HD shimmer.
“PLAYER! TONIGHT WE FARM REASONS! REASONS = RUNE POWER. RUNE POWER = SURVIVAL TOMORROW!”
The Lore Keeper sighed the sigh of a man who has supervised this taco for centuries.
“Tobito speaks true,” he said. “In his… way.”

π² Feast Eve Mini‑Game (Codex‑Sanctioned Side Quest)
Step 1: Rune Hunt (The Core Three)
The Lore Keeper taps his staff. Three empty runic slots glow in the dirt.
“Write three true reasons,” he says. “Real ones. Heavy ones. Ones that matter in the marrow.”
> Journaling Mandate: Write these three reasons in your journal now. They must be legible and authentic.
Each reason becomes:
✨ One glowing Discipline Rune
Tobito leans in: “AND MAKE ‘EM GOOD! The runes taste like stale popcorn if you phone it in.”
---
Step 2: Tobito’s Chaos Challenge (The Wildcard)
A gust of wind sends ash swirling—Tobito somersaults through it like a gremlin caught in a cyclone. A fourth slot appears, flickering neon pink.
“NOW! Invent ONE RIDICULOUS REASON!” he shouts.
Examples from Tobito:
- “Because I want to enter cutscenes sideways like a broken NPC.”
- “Because if I eat too much, my sunglasses will lose their +3 Swagger bonus.”
- “Because I want my armor to fit without clipping into my hips.”
π₯ Your absurd reason becomes a Chaotic Rune—flickering neon pink, humming off‑key.
---
Step 3: Lore Keeper’s Wisdom Check (Classification)
The lantern brightens. The Keeper gestures—all four runes rise into the air.
“Classify them,” he says.
- Shield Rune: Protects you from temptation.
- Sword Rune: Helps you attack cravings.
Tobito yells: “IF ANY OF THEM SMELL LIKE BURRITOS IT MEANS THEY’RE SUPER EFFECTIVE!”
---
Step 4: Victory Condition (Embedding)
The runes drift downward, settling into your journal, fridge, or quest map—wherever you choose to place the reminder.
The Lore Keeper intones:
“When the Feast of Doom begins, your runes will awaken. Reach for them. They will answer.”
Tobito flexes dramatically:
“AND IF THEY DON’T—HYDRATE AND TRY AGAIN, KING/QUEEN/CHAMPION!”
---
π Rune Card Sidebar (Artifact Template)
Create Rune Cards for each reason:
- Card Name: Rune of [Reason]
- Type: Shield / Sword / Chaos
- Inscription: Your reason written clearly
- Visual Cue: Draw a symbol (shield, sword, flame, star)
- Effect: Buffs discipline or strikes cravings
Reader Ritual: Share your four Rune Cards with the fellowship. What Shield and Sword powers did you inscribe?
---
⚔️ Quest Log
- Main Quest: Collect all four runes before bed.
- Buff Spell: Play Tracy Chapman’s song while writing them.
- Victory Condition: Enter Thanksgiving with reasons, humor, runic weaponry, and balance.
The Feast of Doom’s boss stats materialize in firelight:
π¦ Feast Beast (Level: Holiday)
- Temptation Aura: 30 ft
- Endless Snack Phase: +12 to Craving Rolls
- Final Form: “Just One More Plate”
Tobito hisses at the fire:
“I’ve fought tougher minibosses… but not many.”
---
π Closing Codex Note
The fire dims to embers. The night settles.
Your runes glow like four quiet constellations you forged with your own hand.
The Lore Keeper rises, lantern swinging softly.
“Reasons are runes,” he murmurs. “Gather them, and temptation will falter.”
Tobito throws both tortilla arms into the air:
“AND IF YOUR REASON IS ‘BECAUSE I WANT TO FIT INTO MY ARMOR,’ THAT’S VALID. ALSO HYDRATE!”
The last sparks float upward—
the promise of discipline rising with them.
Tomorrow, the Feast of Doom awaits.
And you’re ready.
