Stronger Than Yesterday: The Journey Continues
Today was one of those days where I had to prove to myself that yesterday’s effort wasn’t the peak—it was just the warm-up. It was a grind, a conversation with my own limitations, and a conscious decision to push past them. The gym was my proving ground.
I went heavier on the weights. Not just a plate or two, but enough that the bar bent just a little under the strain. My arms and legs were shaking with a tremor that had nothing to do with fear and everything to do with commitment. Instead of backing down, I leaned into the struggle. Every rep felt like a victory, a defiant statement against the comfortable.
Then came cardio. I stretched it longer than usual, my lungs burning and the sweat stinging my eyes. That inner voice, the one that whispers, “You’ve done enough,” was screaming at full volume. But I ignored it. I tuned it out by focusing on the rhythm of my breath, the cadence of my feet on the treadmill. Because “enough” isn’t where progress lives—uncomfortable is. And walking out of that gym, knowing I gave more than yesterday, that’s the win. That’s momentum.
And the best part? That momentum carries. It doesn’t stay confined to the gym floor. That same drive to push past my physical limits pushed me to crack open The Science of Scaling. The first few chapters already have my mind firing on ways I can not only build myself up physically, but also grow in business and in life. Strength and growth aren’t separate paths—they feed each other. Every rep, every step, every page—it all stacks, building a foundation for something bigger.

The Wisdom of a Chorizo and the Fury of Beans
As I was grinding through my sets, the chaos you’ve all come to know was in full swing.
Tobito, the happy chorizo taco, was bouncing at the edge of the squat rack, tiny legs pumping like pistons. “Form is everything, amigo! Straight back, like a tortilla ready to fold!” he chirped, puffing out his chest like he was the king of motivational coaches. He tried to “spot” me, but his version of spotting mostly looked like jumping up and down, yelling, “Might as well JUMP!” every time I pushed the bar.
Meanwhile, the Refried Avenger crossed his massive bean arms, cape fluttering slightly from the gym fan. His voice rumbled like an earthquake: “He needs MORE! Don’t let him settle, Tobito! Lift until the bar begs for mercy!” He shoved a crumpled napkin into my hand—a “workout plan” that looked suspiciously like instructions for flipping over a parked car.
The two of them bickered like brothers, arguing about the perfect squat form: Tobito advocating for precision, Avenger demanding fury. Their antics were ridiculous, but in their own way, they kept me moving. Because between the taco wisdom and bean fury, I found balance.

The Quest for the Secret Sauce Packet
And then, just as I finished my last set, they were gone. Vanished in a blur of tortilla dust and bean steam. I found them later, crouched by my desk, staring at a crumpled drawing I had tucked away. It was covered in strange lines and circles, with one word scrawled across the top: MAP.
Tobito’s eyes lit up. “The secret sauce packet must be near! This map will lead us straight to it!”
The Refried Avenger nodded solemnly. “Every hero’s journey requires a quest. Ours begins now.”
And just like that, the two of them marched off, bickering over directions, plotting their next adventure while I closed the book and reflected on the day.
