Hearts on Fire, Clothes on the Floor: How I Learned to Fight My Own Clutter

🎵 Song of the Day: “Hearts on Fire” – John Cafferty. A motivational anthem for when you’ve got just enough fight left to stand up to the mess.

---

I knew things were bad when I walked into my room and it looked like a collectible convention had exploded. 💥 The aftermath? A G.I. Joe figure half-buried under a mountain of Funko Pops. A lone Spider-Man action figure dangled from my lamp like he’d given up. And half-unpacked boxes sat like tombstones for my ambition.

After the big show weekend, everything came home with me. And then... stayed. The chaos didn’t just take over my room—it started whispering to me every morning: “You’re drowning in this, and you know it.” 😵‍💫

And yeah, I was. The room was a mess. My schedule? Also a mess. My motivation? Still at the venue trying to haggle for a $5 Chucky doll. 🤡

I was spiraling—until two unlikely heroes appeared: Tobito and The Refried Avenger. 🦸🌮

They meant well. They really did.

Tobito marched in with a plastic sword, riding a paper towel roll like a noble steed. “We fight clutter with courage!” he shouted, dramatically. 🗡️⚔️
The Refried Avenger followed, head wrapped in a receipt-paper bandana, whispering something about organizing by chaos theory. 🌀

Their version of “help” was... let’s say interpretive.

Tobito folded my shirts into tiny taco shapes. The Refried Avenger built a “motivational” playlist that included five versions of the Mortal Kombat theme, a mariachi cover of “Eye of the Tiger,” and a remix of his own catchphrases. 🎶💪

Yes—one of them vacuumed up a vintage G.I. Joe I’ve had since childhood. 🫡 We held a small ceremony. Words were said. Grief was processed. And we moved on.

Truth is, I appreciated their efforts. Their energy. The reminder that even if I’m the only one who can truly fix this, I’m not completely alone. The fire inside me? 🔥 It wasn’t gone. Just buried under wrappers, laundry, and some mildly cursed Funkos.

So I started. I picked up. Sorted. Cleared one corner. Then another. It’s not perfect, but I can see the floor again. I can breathe. 😌
And tomorrow? Maybe I’ll even meal prep.

Today wasn’t about abs, macros, or screaming a motivational speech over a snow-covered training montage. ❄️🥊
It was about reclaiming space—and clarity. One win at a time. One corner at a time.

Tobito’s still wearing a headband. The Refried Avenger is alphabetizing protein bars by expiration date. It’s chaos. But it’s our chaos. And we’re moving forward. Together. 🧼🧠💥
