Finding Me Friday: Momentum, Muscles, and Mascots ๐ฎ๐ช
Momentum. That’s the word that kept echoing in my head all day. Yesterday, I took the first step; today, I didn’t let it slip away. It started with the laundry—a mundane task, but somehow folding those clothes felt like stacking tiny victories. Each sock paired, each shirt smoothed out, felt like a quiet reminder: small steps add up. ✅
Then came the workout. Not just any workout—the kind that sneaks up on you and leaves your muscles humming with a mix of exhaustion and pride. I pushed through, hitting lifts I wasn’t sure I’d hit today. As I wrapped up, sweaty and breathless, I walked out of the gym with that rare, cinematic feeling: like I had just stepped out of a motivational montage, ready to face the rest of the world. And just to make it feel even more epic, Higher Love was blasting through my headphones—each beat syncing perfectly with my steps, making me feel like the world was cheering me on. ✅๐ถ
On the way to work, the universe tossed me a little bonus. I ran into an old friend, someone I hadn’t seen in months. No forced smiles, no awkward small talk—just a hug that felt like time rewinding, like reconnecting a thread I didn’t realize had frayed. That brief moment reminded me that progress isn’t just about physical change; it’s about reconnecting with life, with people, and even with parts of yourself you’ve lost along the way.
Work, as expected, dragged. The hours felt longer than they were, filled with the usual grind and background noise of tasks and emails. But when I walked through the door at home, my faithful companion was there—tail wagging, eyes bright, ready to remind me that joy can be simple. We played, laughed in our own way, and eventually he settled down for dinner. Watching him eat, content and satisfied, I felt that same quiet satisfaction. Life isn’t always complicated; sometimes it’s about noticing the small, good moments when they show up.
And, of course, Tobito and the Refried Avenger had their own commentary on today’s momentum:
Tobito (bouncing with energy):
“¡Sรญ seรฑor! Fold that laundry! Crush that workout! Life is spicy and so are you! And don’t forget—higher love is watching over your hustle!” ๐ถ️๐ถ
Refried Avenger (crossing his little arms, grumbling):
“Laundry isn’t victory… unless surviving boredom counts as a superpower. And music? Meh. But fine, I guess Higher Love isn’t the worst.” ๐
They’re like my personal mascots—the two voices in my head that balance each other out. One hyping me up, the other keeping me grounded, making sure I don’t get too carried away. Honestly? I need both to keep moving forward.
So here’s the takeaway from today: momentum is fragile, but when you catch it, it’s worth protecting. Celebrate the little wins—folded laundry, a solid workout, a hug from an old friend, and maybe even a song that lifts your spirits. Keep stacking them. Even the small victories count.
Because some days, it’s the little things that remind you you’re still on the right track. And some days… it’s two tacos, a dog, and a little Higher Love showing you that life is, quietly, pretty great. ๐ฎ๐พ๐ถ
