💫 Amazed: The Sweetness Before the StormSong of the Day: “Amazed” – Lonestar
Part 2
Song of the Day Amazed- Lonestar
It began with a single call. That same night, my phone buzzed, and five years of silence dissolved like sugar melting into warm coffee. I held the phone a little too tightly, feeling the faint warmth of it in my hand as my heart skipped a beat.
What started as a simple exchange of updates quickly became something richer—shared laughter that echoed in my empty apartment, quiet confessions whispered into the night, and “remember when” stories that slipped past the years like they’d only hit pause yesterday. Even the silences felt full—the kind you only get with someone who knows your rhythm so well, it almost syncs with your own heartbeat.
She told me about her life—the bold moves, the sacrifices, the dreams she chased down with grit and fire. Her voice carried it all: a vibrancy that practically vibrated through the line, a mixture of excitement, triumph, and the subtle undertone of hard-won struggles. I was floored. She’d always been magnetic, but now? She radiated something new. Someone remarkable. Someone I couldn’t help but admire.
I opened up too. About the weight I’d lost, the mindset shifts I’d carved into my daily grind, the slow, steady work of becoming stronger, healthier, more whole. When she acknowledged it—not just casually, but with that quiet, sincere admiration—it landed deeper than I expected. It wasn’t just a pat on the back—it was proof that this self-revamp wasn’t only visible progress. It was transformation, inside and out.
And we kept talking. Kept texting. Every word was a spark, tiny fires flickering quietly, gradually reigniting something I hadn’t realized had dimmed. Then it happened: we made a plan. Dinner next week. A real date. After all this time, the window we’d been peering through for years had finally swung open.
I was buzzing. Hopeful in a way I hadn’t felt in forever. It was like the universe had been holding its breath, waiting to say: “Now. You’re ready.”
But two days later, she called.
Her voice was soft—carrying joy and sorrow like two notes of the same chord. She’d been offered a dream job. A new city. A fresh start. One she had fought for and earned every painstaking step. I could hear the pride underlining the wistfulness, the excitement tinged with hesitation, and my chest tightened with a mix of elation and dread.
The next day, I got a call too. A breakthrough I’d been grinding toward for months finally arrived. Not as far, not as flashy—but real. And hard-earned.
We were both leveling up. Both chasing better. It should’ve felt like a celebration.
But her opportunity was taking her far away.
And just like that, the first date we’d waited years for… might also be our last.
That night, sleep didn’t come. My mind raced, bouncing between elation and ache, replaying her laughter, the sound of her voice, the excitement in her eyes, and the cruel timing of it all. After all the near-misses, life had finally aligned us—only to scatter us again. Every moment felt like a tug-of-war between hope and heartbreak, my chest tightening with every thought.
But deep down, I knew: these weren’t endings. They were steps. Difficult, meaningful, maybe even beautiful steps in both our stories.
And still—I wouldn’t change a thing.
She amazes me. She always has. Even if this chapter is just a spark that burned bright and brief, I’m thankful. Thankful for the call, the hope, the reminder that real connection still exists. That timing, no matter how unforgiving, doesn’t erase the truth of what something meant.
Maybe… our story isn’t over.
Maybe it’s just unfolding in its own, unexpected way.

✨ Navigating “Right Person, Wrong Time”
This bittersweet chapter reminded me how fragile—and how beautiful—timing really is. If you’re facing something similar, here are a few reflections I’m holding close during this season of my self-revamp:
Honor Your Path: Keep growing. Keep building. Your journey doesn’t end just because someone can’t walk beside you right now.
Practice Gratitude: Even if things didn’t go as planned, acknowledge what was real. The connection. The growth. The moment. It all mattered.
Stay Open: Life is unpredictable. People change. Paths cross again. Don’t slam the door—but don’t wait by it either.
Find Support: You’re not meant to carry heartbreak alone. Talk to your people. Let them remind you who you are.
Part one is Pinch Me, Part three is So Far Away.
