Let's Go! (But I Forgot the Vegetables)

Song of the Day: “Let’s Go” by The Cars
(Seriously, play it. It’s basically the soundtrack to today.)

You ever have one of those days that’s so packed it feels like you lived an entire week in 24 hours? That was yesterday. Between getting an HVAC quote (because nothing says adulthood like central air), watching my parents' dogs (who think I’m their personal chew toy), squeezing in a workout, and doing laundry like I was prepping for a detergent commercial—it was a day.

Fast forward to this morning: my faithful four-legged alarm clock woke me up early for his royal outdoor pee session. No snooze button. No mercy.

But the day quickly improved. I went to the gym, and as soon as I walked in, a friend greeted me with a hug. A real, human, “I’ve missed you” kind of hug. We caught up a little—those quick but meaningful conversations that remind you people care. Sadly, we had to part ways, which was a bit of a downer, but hey—emotions are cardio, right?

Post-gym, I managed to shower (small victories), shave (major victory), and even get my car washed. I donated a bunch of stuff (including my old car—goodbye, clunker), fixed some loose ends, and played with my dog who has endless energy and zero respect for personal space.

Then came grocery shopping. I tried to be efficient. I found new drinks I’m excited to try—adulting rewards. But, of course, I forgot the one thing I actually needed: vegetables. My body is 75% caffeine and vibes at this point.

Still, it’s been a good day. I feel accomplished, a little tired, but in that satisfying way. The kind of tired that comes with knowing you showed up for your life.

Here’s to keeping the momentum going—even if I have to drag myself (and my empty veggie drawer) along for the ride.

Stick around. Subscribe. Share.

And if you’ve ever forgotten your vegetables, your gym bag, or your sanity in the laundry room — you’re in the right place.

Drop a comment, share your favorite workout win (or fail), or just say hi. We’re in this revamp together — one imperfect, awkward, sweaty step at a time.

This isn’t about perfection.
It’s about showing up, laughing through the chaos, and becoming just a little more you every day.
