I Get Knocked Down (But I Get Up Again)

Song of the Day: “Tubthumping” – Chumbawamba

Some days hit like a truck. Others feel like you're being slowly steamrolled. Today? Let’s just say if exhaustion were an Olympic event, I’d have medaled. Gold, baby.

After three jam-packed days of pushing through life, workouts, home repairs, grocery runs, socializing, and trying to stay sane, I finally hit a wall today—and then the wall hit back.

The day started with that kind of groggy, soul-deep fatigue where you wake up and wonder if you actually slept or just blinked. From the moment I opened my eyes, it felt like life had already hit fast-forward. Errands, calls, cleaning, minor chaos—it never let up. You ever feel like you're living inside a blender? That was today.

And yet… I kept going.

I still made it to the gym.
Because even on the hard days, moving my body helps me stay grounded. Lifting, sweating, and pushing myself through the motions—even when my energy was circling the drain—was my way of saying, “I’m not giving up on me.”
It wasn’t my strongest workout, but it was a meaningful one. Showing up counts.

What helped me stay sane? Honestly, talking with friends. You’d be surprised what a difference a little laughter and camaraderie can make when your energy's flatlining. Just hearing someone say, “Yeah, me too,” is enough to keep you from spiraling.

Now here's the kicker: The A/C still isn’t fixed. And the bathroom? Still not done. But tomorrow? Oh, tomorrow it better be. Because I’m one day closer to either a breakthrough or a full breakdown—and I’m not in the mood for the latter.

But you know what? I’m still here. Still fighting. Still choosing to show up, even when I’d rather be face-down in a pile of laundry with a pint of dairy-free cookie dough.

Today’s theme song, “Tubthumping,” fits like a glove.

> “I get knocked down, but I get up again. You’re never gonna keep me down.”

It may have been the unofficial anthem of every frat party in 1997, but today? It’s the rallying cry of the worn out, the burned out, and those of us who keep pushing even when the tank’s on fumes.

💡 Self-Improvement Tip of the Day:
Take rest seriously, but also celebrate the days you show up despite everything. Some of the most powerful wins come on the days you almost didn’t try.
