"Rebuilding and Recovering"

Entry #89

*Taking the First Step Towards Recovery*

Today marked a significant milestone in my journey towards recovery. It was my first day of physical therapy with a new therapist, and I was determined to make the most of it. As I work towards getting back to work and regaining control over my life, I know that this is just the beginning of a long and challenging process. In this post, I'll share my experiences and reflections from the day, including my highs and lows, and what I've learned about the importance of perseverance and self-care.

Today was an extremely important day for me, as it marked the first day of physical therapy with a new therapist. This is another step I need to take in order to get back to work and start working out again, which will ultimately allow me to get my life back on track. My expectations for today were higher than they have been in a long time, and I had my plans laid out to ensure that I accomplish my goals and get something done. I started the day by visiting my storage unit to put away my bins and bringing some boxes to organize the loose products I had stored there. Following that, I made a trip to a donation store to donate some clothes that I can no longer wear.

After completing these tasks, I returned home and did some cleaning, laundry, and made breakfast. I made sure to have everything I needed ready to go, and then cleaned up the mess from breakfast before spending some time playing with my dog. Once he took a nap, it was time for me to get ready to head out again. I made it to the gym to do my workout, which was a bit disheartening. While cardiovascular workouts are fine and necessary, I'm eager to start weightlifting again. Although it's good that I'm still going to the gym, it's disappointing that I'm not yet able to lift weights. Hopefully, I'll be able to start lifting soon.

Between my gym session and physical therapy, I ran some errands that helped me complete a few tasks on my list. I had been putting them off for a while, which is why I made sure to prioritize them today. Fortunately, the errands didn't take long to complete, which made me wonder why I hadn't done them earlier. Finally, I made it to physical therapy with high hopes that this would help me get back to work. Arriving on time allowed me to complete the paperwork before starting my therapy session. I answered the therapist's questions to the best of my ability, so they could help me feel better.

However, my high hopes quickly came crashing down after the session. If I want to start feeling better, I need to do more at home to support my recovery. My depression is starting to resurface, and I need to figure out how to fight it back. I must keep focusing on my goals if I'm going to maintain my health during this challenging time. By prioritizing my well-being and taking small steps towards recovery, I'm determined to overcome my setbacks and come out stronger on the other side.
