"The Invisible Me: When No One Seems to Listen"

Entry #31

Have you ever felt like you're invisible? Like, no matter what you say, it's as if you're speaking into a void. I've had those days, and let me tell you, it's frustrating.

At work, I make an effort to listen to my coworkers, managers, and members. When they ask me a question, I respond. But sometimes, it feels like they're not even listening. I'll repeat my answer, slower and louder, and still, it's a 50/50 chance they'll actually hear me.

At the gym, it's a different story. Most people make an effort to listen, even with the noise and distractions. But everywhere else? It's like I'm speaking a different language.

Being unheard is frustrating. It makes me feel like my opinion doesn't count. And when I finally express my frustration, the response is always the same: "Why didn't you say something?" Ugh.

In my opinion, listening is the most important part of communication. But it seems like people are too busy thinking of their response to actually listen.

Maybe it's time for us to relearn how to listen. You know, that old saying: "Treat people the way you want to be treated." Maybe we should add a new one: "Listen to people the way you want to be heard."
