"Halloween and the Shift Within"

Entry #12

Week 6 was a highlight for me, and it's no surprise why: Halloween! I'm a huge fan of the holiday, and I go all out – decorating my house, dressing up (this year, I was Jason), and binge-watching horror movies.

But what really struck me this year was how my enthusiasm for Halloween coincided with my self-improvement journey. Finding a costume I love motivated me to keep working towards my goals, so I can rock an even better look next year!

As fall settled in here in Illinois, I noticed the usual seasonal treats popping up everywhere – pumpkin spice, specialty candies, and festive doughnuts. But here's the thing: I wasn't tempted by any of it. What's happening to me?!

As I reflected on this change, I realized that working on myself has shifted my priorities. I've been cooking more and lost interest in dining out. This got me thinking – if I'm not into drinking or eating out, I'll need to find new activities for dates.

It dawned on me that I've undergone a subtle yet significant transformation. This year's Halloween was one of the best I've had, and it wasn't just about the spooky thrills – it was about the time I spent with friends, family, and the sense of community that came with it.

As I continue on my journey to become a better version of myself, I hope to hold onto this sense of gratitude and appreciation for the people and experiences that truly matter.
